JOB TYPE: FTE - Full-Time

 

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Instruction may include day and evening classes and may require travel to community campuses or distance instruction.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Instructor - with primary focus on drafting and Computer-aided drafting (CAD), and additional duties in related areas, such as industrial maintenance and/or electronics and/or welding. Instructor duties include; Teaching performance by demonstrating the ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process. Advisement of students by participating in assisting students in personal and professional development and by providing academic guidance to assigned advisees and to students enrolled in classes. Instruction Development by developing, revising and maintaining course and curriculum through defining course objectives, preparing course outlines and appropriate instructional materials and by incorporating instructional technology. Instructional Management by the effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports. College/Community Service by participating in college activities, including committees and teams and by promoting the college through public service.
Professional Development by participating in activities to develop professional skills and subject matter knowledge in order to maintain and improve proficiency as an instructor.

 

MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Minimum of associate degree in industrial technology or applied sciences in drafting, graphics or design or related technology area, such as industrial maintenance, electronics, machine tool. Minimum of one year of related work experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/training or experience in more than one technology area. Previous teaching experience strongly preferred.
