Program Summary:

Every business, corporation, industry and educational institiution needs organized, self-motivated people to manage daily activities. Students who pursue an Associate in Applied Science - Administrative Office Technology (AAS.AOT) degree learn skills that allow them to perform administrative support duties in a variety of offices. Students will learn computer skills and how to use office software for spreadsheets, word processing and database.

Administrative assistants typically aid managers and other support staff in daily office work such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, organizing and maintaing paper and electronic files, managing projects, producing correspondence for other professionals, handling travel arrangements and contacting clients.

The Administrative Office Technology program is the pathway to a career asan office manager, clerical assistant, receptionist, administrative assistant, word processing clerk, transcriptionist or bookkeeper. Advanced certificates allow students to specialize in legal and medical fields.

Program Length:
The Associate in Applied Science - Administrative Office Technology program requires 69 semester credit hours of instruction. Full-time students can complete either program in four semesters, and evening students, depending on the course enrollment of the student, can complete their studies in five to six semesters.
