Online Classes - Checklist for Success

  • Learn about Online Class requirements for skills (take the test) and equipment/software (read the list).

  • Request Advisor approval, and provide to Distance Learning Coordinator.

  • Register for class by paying or signing Financial Aid Award Letter and getting a receipt/schedule.

  • Order textbook and materials (by preordering from NETC Book Nook or from provider college’s online bookstore or from public sources, such as Amazon.com, wal-mart.com, etc.)

  • Send a “hello” message to the instructor within the first week of class.  If you receive no response in two days, immediately contact NETC DL Coordinator via email at mkaltwang@netc.edu or via telephone at 843-921-6959.

  • Attend class by logging in. If you do not log in, you are absent. Several absences mean that you may be dropped from the class.  Financial Aid pays for attending classes; if dropped, you will likely have to repay the money which paid your tuition.  The Financial Aid Office will explain the consequences of registering, but not attending.

  • Participate in class and meet deadlines.

  • Contact your instructor if you have questions about the class. Contact instructor and NETC DL Coordinator if you must withdraw from the class.
There is no excuse for claiming inability to access the course after the first two weeks of class, if you have not contacted NETC for assistance!  You will be liable for the tuition if you have not requested assistance within that time.
