Nancy White has been teaching nursing classes at NETC since 2008 and has experience providing healthcare in a variety of facilities from nursing homes to correctional institutes. She enjoys helping others accomplish the dream of becoming a nurse and makes herself available to provide guidance for staying on track to complete the nursing program. Besides teaching, she also enjoys reading, listening to music, sewing, cooking, making crafts, taking walks, spending time with her husband and playing with her dog.
Mrs. White completed her studies to become a licensed practical nurse at Marlboro Vocational School of Practical Nursing. She is an alumna of Northeastern Technical College, where she earned an Associate of Science degree and Pre-Nursing Certificate. She completed the Associate of Health Science in nursing program at Florence-Darlington Technical College to become a registered nurse. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Phoenix. She has worked at Cheraw Nursing Home, Chesterfield General Hospital, Wilson Hospital, Marlboro Park Hospital, Evans Correctional Institute, Chesterfield Detention Center and Tri-County Mental Health Center. She also owned and operated Hodges-White Investigation Services in Cheraw.
Students in Mrs. White’s class will learn nursing skills to work in obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health and a variety of specialty areas so that they will be well equipped to handle the many situations that arise in the healthcare field. They will gain the knowledge to help them accomplish the goal of passing their NCLEX exams on the first attempt. Mrs. White strives to give her students positive feedback when they have questions, offer tutoring for challenging topics and provide assistance in developing critical thinking skills.
