The Anne B. Crawford Business Scholarship
Mrs. Anne Crawford was a businesses and career technology educator and former chair of the Career and Technology Education Department at Cheraw High School. She taught business and career technology education courses at Cheraw High School, McBee High School, Hartsville Senior High School, and Northeastern Technical College.
A $1000 scholarship ($500 per semester for two semesters) will be awarded to a Cheraw High School graduating senior attending an accredited post secondary institution of higher education. Any student may apply who is a member or a non-member of the National Vocational Technical Honor Society (NVTHS).
If the student attends Northeastern Technical College, the scholarship will be increased to $1200 ($600 per semester for two semesters).
If the student attends Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina (the alma mater of Mrs. Crawford and her husband) the scholarship amount will be increased to $2000 ($1000 per semester for two semesters).
Scholarship checks will be mailed to the specific college upon official notification of enrollment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Demonstrate a noted achievement in his/her studies (2.5 GPA or higher)
- National Technical Honor Society member preferred
- Successful completion of two business classes at Cheraw High School
- Demonstrate good citizenship
- Have plans to attend an accredited post secondary institution of higher education
- Present a brief essay (no longer than two typed double spaced pages) explaining why he/she should receive the scholarship.
- Applicants with financial need will receive extra consideration
