The Center for Child Care Career Development (CCCD) provides scholarship opportunities for early care givers who work as teachers, directors or providers

SMART MONEY BONUS
Each student successfully completing ECD 101 with a grade of “C” or higher is eligible for a South Carolina Early Childhood Credential issued by the CCCCD.

Students who are awarded the South Carolina Early Childhood Credential may be eligible for a Smart Money Bonus issued by the CCCCD by meeting the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older and a South Carolina resident
  • Successfully complete (“C” or better) ECD 101 at a S.C. technical college
  • Work in a state regulated child care program in South Carolina

Applications for the Early Childhood Credential and the Smart Money Bonus are distributed to students enrolled in ECD 101.

Note: Students who completed the ABC Child Care Credential through continuing education and receive a bonus are not eligible for an additional bonus. However, they will receive the South Carolina Early Childhood Credential.

TEACH SCHOLARSHIPS
Students enrolled in ECD 101, the ECD certificate, or the ECD associate degree program may be eligible for the TEACH Scholarship awarded through the CCCCD by meeting the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must work in a state regulated child care program in South Carolina as a teacher, director or child care provider.
  • Must have the sponsorship of their employer
  • Must commit to employment for at least one year beyond the scholarship period.
