Coca-Cola All-State Community College Academic Team
The Coca−Cola Scholars Foundation is an independent, non-profit foundation governed by a nine-member Board of Directors, comprised of seven Directors from the Coca−Cola bottling community and two representatives from The Coca−Cola Company. Conceived as a joint effort of Coca−Cola Bottlers and The Coca−Cola Company to celebrate the 1986 Coca−Cola Centennial, the foundation was established to make an enduring contribution to the nation's future and to make educational
funding accessible to the widest range of students possible.
In partnership with Phi Theta Kappa, and USA TODAY, the Coca-Cola All-State Community College Academic Team honors 60 students as representatives of all outstanding community college students, offering scholarships for Gold, Silver and Bronze Scholars, as well as an additional 300 Coca−Cola Two Year finalists. Almost $500,000 for student scholarships is available through this program.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Scholars, each consisting of 20 members, are selected. Twenty Gold Scholars will receive a $2,500 stipend, twenty Silver Scholars will receive a $1,500 stipend, and twenty Bronze Scholars will receive a $1,000 stipend.
All 60 members of the All-USA Academic Team and their colleges receive extensive national recognition through coverage in USA TODAY. In addition, 300 students will be honored as finalists and will receive $1,000 each.
Selection is based on nominations submitted by community college presidents or CEOs, who receive nomination materials in the fall. The American Association of Community Colleges, the Coca−Cola Scholars Foundation, Phi Theta Kappa and USA TODAY sponsor the All-USA Academic Team program annually. To be eligible, a student must post a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and be eligible to graduate with an associate degree.
