The Etta Gray Memorial Scholarship Program

In honor of the beloved Etta Gray, The Hipp family has established a scholarship program to empower financially disadvantaged African American youth in their pursuit of educational access and economic success.  Etta Gray Memorial Scholarships will enable students to attain their educational and professional dreams through obtaining technical certifications, which will assist them in achieving financial stability early in their careers.

The Etta Gray Memorial Scholarship Program will provide annual scholarships of up to $5,000 per scholarship, based on need, to students attending target technical institutions in Upstate South Carolina. 

Eligibility Requirements

▪ Students must have permanent residence in Upstate South Carolina.
▪ Students must be enrolled in an institution that offers technical certification in South Carolina.
▪ Students must provide validation of progress toward completion of the certificate.
▪ Students must have an unmet financial need verified by their institutions financial aid officer.

For this year of the program, areas for consideration of technical certification may include: Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Java, Internet, PC Programming, and Computer Technology.
