Heavy Equipment Operator program starts Feb. 8

Northeastern Technical College's Division of Continuing Education will be offering a basic level training program in Heavy Equipment Operation (HEO) at both the Cheraw and Dillon campuses beginning February 8, 2016.
Training provided includes operational procedures for: backhoe, excavator, bulldozer and front-end loader. Students will receive classroom and hands-on training with an emphasis on safe operation, routine maintenance, and fundamental operation techniques.
The basic level course lasts four days per week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and costs $1,045.00 per course. 100% scholarship funding is available for eligible SC residents through SNAP2Work, for anyone currently receiving SNAP benefits. Please call the Department of Continuing Education today at (843) 921-6924 to apply and get qualified before the start date. You will be required to obtain proof of benefits from your local DSS office to begin the program.

WorkKeys is a pre-requisite for this training and students must schedule to take the assessment prior to the start date of the program. Testing is done on the Cheraw campus on Mondays at 1:00pm and Fridays at 8:30am and can be scheduled by calling (843) 921-6920. Free online training assistance is also provided for those who have valid email addresses and internet access Scores must be provided for those who have already taken WorkKeys in addition to their High School diploma or GED.

Backhoe classes will begin on February 8th, followed by excavator classes on Feb. 15th, bulldozer classes on Feb. 22nd, and Front End Loader classes on Feb. 29th. Classes will follow the same schedule on both campuses.
Northeastern Technical College's Heavy Equipment Operator Program was developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), a nonprofit education foundation created to develop industry driven standardized craft training programs with portable credentials, and is taught by NCCER accredited instructors.
