NETC Announces Speaker for Summer Commencement

Northeastern Technical College will recognize the accomplishments of its Summer 2026 graduates during a commencement ceremony on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Dillon County School District 4 Auditorium, located at 1738 Highway 301 North in Dillon, S.C.

Delivering the keynote address will be Paul "Mike" Burch Jr., South Carolina's 4th Judicial Circuit Solicitor, who serves Chesterfield, Marlboro, and Dillon counties. A Chesterfield County native, Burch began his college journey as a dual enrollment student at Northeastern Technical College, making his return to campus as commencement speaker a special occasion for the college.

About the Featured Speaker:

4th Circuit Solicitor Mike Burch was born in Charlotte, NC and attended Chesterfield County Schools. A graduate of Central High School in Pageland, SC, Solicitor Burch attended Northeastern Technical College for dual enrollment while in high school.

Burch was a NJCAA Academic All-American at USC-Lancaster while on a golf scholarship there. Burch obtained his bachelor's degree in criminal justice at the University of South Carolina - Columbia, and his juris doctorate at the University of South Carolina's Joseph F. Rice School of Law.

Burch served as law clerk for the Honorable Roger E. Henderson of the South Carolina Circuit Court and Deputy Solicitor for 6th Circuit Solicitor Randy Newman before being elected as 4th Circuit Solicitor in 2024, serving Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, and Marlboro Counties.

Solicitor Burch is married with 3 children. He serves on the South Carolina Bar Board of Governors; South Carolina Bar House of Delegates; is a Deacon for First Baptist Church of Pageland; serves as a volunteer for Pageland Fire Department; is a member of Jamil Shrine Temple, Sandhill Shrine Club, and Mt. Moriah Lodge #58.

The public is invited to join family, friends, faculty, and staff in honoring the Class of Summer 2026. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. as graduates celebrate this important milestone and the next chapter of their educational and professional journeys.
