NETC awards 165 degrees, diplomas, and certificates at winter graduation

Northeastern Technical College (NETC) held their annual winter commencement at the college's Marlboro County campus on December 8. During the ceremony 142 graduates from Marlboro, Dillon, and Chesterfield Counties were recognized for earning certificates, diplomas, and/or degrees completed in Fall 2022.

NETC Alumni, Carol "Shae" Linton, delivered the keynote speech to the graduates urging them to persevere despite any potential roadblocks they may encounter.

"Life is going to happen, and you are going to have adversities. I want to motivate you to push through these things," said Linton. "Whatever happens, I guarantee that you will have the strength to push through it. Believe in yourself and remember that you are your own biggest supporter."

Linton graduated from NETC in 2021 making history as the first dual enrollment student in Chesterfield County to receive an associate degree before graduating high school. Following NETC, she attended Winthrop University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in less than two years.

"Remember that if you are the first at something, make sure that you are not the last," she continued. "It's our responsibility to help others to follow the path that you paved."
