NETC signs bridge agreement with Coker College

Northeastern Technical College and Coker College recently renewed an articulation agreement that makes it easier for NETC students to pursue their bachelor's degree by transferring to Coker College.
This partnership creates a unique opportunity for local residents who wish to enroll at NETC prior to attending Coker College by providing students with a seamless transition from one college to the other. The Bridge program is a perfect fit for students who would like to begin their college careers closer to home, while saving thousands on tuition.
The program will also give students the opportunity to complete developmental and/or other required coursework, to enhance their academic preparation, before entering into Coker College's baccalaureate degree program.
"Our bridge agreement with Coker College provides a great place for students to earn their first two years of college close to home and earn their Bachelor's Degree from Coker," said Dr. Ron Bartley, president of Northeastern Technical College.
Bridge program participants will benefit from an array of services that will improve their transition from NETC to Coker College. Some of these services include admissions counseling with not only NETC advisors, but also Coker College; waiver of application fee to Coker; and student rate admission to Coker's athletic and cultural events.

Coker College will award $500 scholarships to all participants who earn at least 30 transferable credit hours with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. The scholarship may be renewed for a maximum of three years provided the student earns at least 30 credit hours annually, and maintains no less than a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
Northeastern Technical College students may transfer a maximum of 76 semester hours with a grade of "C" or better. A complete list of transferable courses is posted on Coker College's website at
"Students who earn an Associate Degree first are more successful upon transfer to a four year college like Coker College," said Bartley. "We are excited to partner in this highly successful bridge program."
NETC students intending to transfer to Coker must submit an application for undergraduate admission at least two months prior to transfer semester. They must submit a Coker Bridge Program Information Form to the NETC Admissions Office at the time of enrollment at NETC or upon decision to transfer to Coker College.
