Plan ahead and earn college credits this summer

While spring has only just begun, it's time to start making summer plans, especially if you are thinking about getting ahead on your college education.

This summer, NETC is offering 5-week and 10-week classes online and at campuses located in Cheraw, Bennettsville, Dillon, and Pageland beginning May 15. Another late summer 5-week term will begin June 19.

The following courses, from the statewide college transfer agreement, are being offered this summer at NETC: Accounting Principles I, History and Appreciation of Art, Solar System Astronomy, Biological Science I and II, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Microbiology, College Chemistry I, English Composition I and II, American Literature I, Western Civilization post 1689, American History Discovery to 1877, American History 1877 to Present, College Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Music Appreciation, Introduction to Philosophy, American Government, State and Local Government, Introduction to Psychology, Human Growth and Development, Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Elementary Spanish I, Public Speaking, and Introduction to Theater.

A complete list of all day, evening, and online course offerings is available at each of the college campuses in Pageland, Cheraw, Bennettsville, and Dillon, or by visiting and clicking on the "Current Student" link located under the Admissions menu.

Transient students (students enrolled in other colleges and universities) and recent high school graduates who plan to attend a four-year university this fall are encouraged to take classes at NETC this summer. Taking classes while on summer break allows students to save thousands on tuition for classes that transfer back to a four-year college/university of their choosing.

Summer Pell Grant are also available for students enrolled in at least six credit hours in the summer, even if students had already exhausted the 24-credit limit set for Fall and Spring semesters. Financial aid applications can be completed and submitted online by visiting WWW.FAFSA.ED.GOV. Paper applications are available by calling 1-800-4Fed-Aid (1-800-433-3243).

For more information about classes available this summer, or applying for financial aid, call NETC's Admissions Office at 921-6933 or 1-800-921-7399 or, visit Northeastern Technical College online at
