Students hit the road with NETC’s CDL Program

Northeastern Technical College's new Commercial Drivers License (CDL) program shifted into gear June 26, with four students ready to hit the road and make a career for themselves in the transportation and logistics industry.
The CDL program at NETC includes both classroom and hands-on training. The classroom training teaches students things like safety, truck maintenance, and how to keep a log book, while the hands-on training will get students road-ready, and teach skills like truck inspection, how to hook and unhook a trailer, shifting and how to properly reverse.
The commercial driver's license program is four weeks, with classes Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Fridays from 8:00 to 2:00. The program costs $3,995, and financial assistance and scholarships are available.
NETC is now taking applications for upcoming classes to be held through out the Pee Dee regionm, with a class scheduled to begin this August in Dillon County.
