Williamson awarded Ida Driggers Daniels memorial scholarship

Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson of Cheraw has been awarded the Ida Driggers Daniels Memorial Scholarship for nursing education at Northeastern Technical College.

Williamson is enrolled as a full time student in Practical Nursing (LPN) program at Northeastern Technical College, with an anticipated graduation date in December 2018.

"I chose NETC because it's close to home," said Williamson. "I recently started the LPN nursing program, and hope to transition into the RN program once completed. My goal is to become a travel nurse, so I can help those in need."

The scholarship was created in memory of Ida Driggers Daniels of Blenheim, SC who passed away in March 2017. As a former nurse, Mrs. Daniels was passionate about the profession and supported nursing education.

Individuals who are looking to donate to the Ida Driggers Daniels Memorial fund can mail donations "In Memory of Mrs. Ida Driggers Daniels" to: Northeastern Technical College Foundation, 1201 Chesterfield Highway Cheraw, SC 29520. Individuals or corporations interested in donating or creating a new scholarship can contact the NETC Office of Institutional Advancement at 843-921-6916.
