Continuing Education Offers Courses for Professional or Personal Enrichment in Cheraw, Pageland, Bennettsville an Dillon: Online Courses are Also Available

More than 200 courses for new job skills, advancement in the workplace or personal enrichment will be offered this spring by Northeastern Technical College’s division of continuing education. 

Beginning in January, courses in computer operation and programming, medical and health care training, business skills development and a variety of personal enrichment courses will be offered at reasonable prices and convenient locations at each of NETC’s community campuses.  

Internet-based courses are also being offered for individuals looking to pursue educational and training opportunities from the comfort of their own homes, or offices.  To take one of these classes students need a computer with access to the Internet, an e-mail address, and Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or newer version of a Macintosh operating system.

All continuing education courses are offered as non-college credit courses, typically meet once a week and last for a shorter period of time than regular semester long classes. 

“Our spring semester courses offer a variety of pathways for a variety of interest,” said Sherrie Chapman, dean of continuing education.  “Whether someone would like to take a class to advance in the workplace, to start a new career, or to enrich themselves through education, we have more than 200 different courses to help pursue those interests.”   

Among the courses offered this spring in Cheraw are new courses such as “How to Shop & Sell on EBay”, a free “Book of the Month Club” for adults over 55 years of age, advanced level computer training courses and a truck driver training class in Dillon.  Beginning and intermediate computer operation courses are also available.

Classroom courses in Pageland include beginning level classes in WORD, POWERPOINT, EXCEL, and the Internet.  Conversational Spanish I & II, Floral Design and Photography will also be offered.

 Classroom courses in Dillon include the Medical Coding Specialist Series, Introduction to Word, Conversational Spanish and Truck Driving.  Intermediate and advanced level computer operation courses are also available.

Classroom courses in Bennettsville include the Medical Coding Specialist Series, Introduction to Word, Floral Design and Phlebotomy.  Intermediate and advanced level computer operation courses and child care course are also available.

Registration for classes must be complete by January 12, or 10 business days prior to the first day of class.  To register, you may visit the division of continuing education on NETC’s main campus in Cheraw from 8 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, or on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  You may also register for classes offered on the community campuses in Bennettsville, Pageland or Dillon by visiting those campuses during their normal hours of operation.
