Second Chance to Enroll at NETC this Spring

Northeastern Technical College is offering students another opportunity to enroll in classes this spring semester.  More than 20 general education courses will be offered online that start on February 12 and end on May 5.  Registration begins on February 1 and last through February 9. A complete list of available courses is below.

Online classes are beneficial because students are no longer bound to a specific place and time,” explained Sandra Barbour, vice president for instruction at the college “So these classes are convenient to those who need to go to school around work and family obligations, or from the comforts of their own homes or offices.”

Across the nation, the number of college students taking online courses has skyrocketed.  The same is true at Northeastern Technical College where online student enrollment has jumped nearly 70 percent in past semesters.  Most recently, online enrollment was up 13 percent during the Fall semester.

“Taking a class online is a chance for any current students to add a class that easily fits their schedule,” said Barbour.  “It’s also a great time for any new students to start their pathway to a college education now, instead of waiting until the summer or next fall.”

Students who register for online classes must have appropriate computer access.  Computers are available for use at NETC by any student enrolled in classes offered by the college. Go to www.netc.edu , choose “Current Students” or “Prospective Students” and then click “Online Classes” for more information including the Orientation for Online students.

New students must submit an application for admission by visiting www.netc.edu and clicking on “Admissions” or, by visiting a NETC campus in Cheraw, Bennettsville, Dillon or Pageland and follow admission procedures.  Tuition or financial aid payment of tuition is due at time of registration.

Current students must see their advisors no later than February 8 to add a class and should be aware that additional tuition is required if students are enrolled less than full-time.  For those students classified as full time students, there is no charge to add one of these courses.  Current students can not replace a spring semester class with a Spring II class without additional tuition charges in most cases.

More information, as well as a complete list of course offerings, is available by calling Northeastern Technical College at 921-6900, or  by visiting the website at www.netc.edu and clicking on the Spring II announcement in the “News & Events” box.  Financial Aid is available, but applications are required and must be submitted in advance.
