NETC to Celebrate Constitution Day

Northeastern Technical College will observe Constitution Day on Thursday, September 14, 2006 by showing a film depicting the creation of the Constitution of the United States and hosting a discussion about the importance of the historical document.   The public is invited.

The event will take place on NETC’s Cheraw campus in room 212 at 9:30am and again at 12:30pm.  Excerpts from the crucially acclaimed, and Emmy awarded film, “A More Perfect Union” will be shown followed by the discussion led by NETC history teacher, Mark Pellatt.

Each session is expected to last approximately 45-50 minutes.  Northeastern Technical College students, faculty, staff as well as residents of the Chesterfield, Marlboro and Dillon county areas are invited to attend.

“By hosting this event, we hope our students become more knowledgeable about the creation of our Constitution and obtain a better understanding or how the ruling document of our country affects them personally,” said Dr. Jerry Robertson, vice president of student services as Northeastern Technical College.
