NETC Fall II Registration is 9/26:  Pathways to College Education can Start Online

Northeastern Technical College is offering current and prospective students another opportunity to enroll in classes this fall semester.  Registration for Fall II is September 26 and classes start on October 2.  This mini term is for current or new students who wish to add or take classes for transfer, electives, or business and computer technology pathways.

“Current students can get a jump start on the Spring semester by adding one of these shorter classes to their schedule,” said Sandra Barbour, vice president for instruction.

“For new students, this is an opportunity to start their pathway to a college education now, instead of waiting until January.”

As part of Fall II, the college is offering oncampus classes and more than 20 online classes for students who would like to take classes on their own time and from the comforts of their home, school, or business computer.  These classes require students to communicate regularly with the instructor, but they also offer flexible scheduling, enhanced learning through one-on-one communication with instructors, and the ability for students to control the pace of learning.

“The online classes are especially valuable because students go to class on their schedule,” said Sandra Barbour, vice president of instruction at the college. “Education is no longer restricted to classrooms so students can better coordinate their work and family obligations with the education they wish to pursue.”

The online class offerings include such classes as Astronomy, Biological Science, Macro and Micro Economics, History, Business Law, Marketing, Retailing and Small Business Management.  Introduction to Management, Basic Air Conditioning and Welding classes are also being offered oncampus at NETC Cheraw in a conventional classroom format.

More information, as well as a complete list of course offerings, is available by calling Northeastern Technical College at 921-6900, or  by visiting the website at www.netc.edu and clicking on the Fall II announcement in the “News & Events” box.  Financial Aid is available, but applications are required and must be submitted in advance.

Registration for all classes is September 26 from 11 a.m. – 1p.m,, and 4:30  – 6:30 p.m. in Cheraw, Dillon, Bennettsville or Pageland.  Classes start October 2 and end on December 13.
