Seniors Visit NETC to Learn How the College can be their Pathway to the Future |
| |
More than 450 other Chesterfield County high school seniors and their chaperones, recently visited Northeastern Technical College to participate in Future Focus, a partnership program between the college and the Chesterfield County school district.
The program was created to help high school students prepare for a college education.
While on campus, students learned about application procedures and deadlines, options for financial aid, and the variety of academic, career training, and transfer pathways available. The transfer pathways are designed to help students transfer to four year universities from Northeastern Technical College.
Students also toured the campus and had the chance to hear from a panel of current NETC students who responded to questions about life as a college student.
This was the sixth year NETC hosted the Future Focus event.

The students were learning about the technology used when taking a “Distance Learning” course at the college. This capability allows students to take courses offered at other community colleges and state universities in South Carolina without traveling to the location. Classrooms are linked via the Internet and students and teachers communicate using real-time audio and video feeds. |
