NETC Decorates for Holidays
Faculty, staff and students at Northeastern Technical College have been busy preparing for the holiday season. The Student Government Association recently held its annual Christmas party for students while faculty and staff have been decorating their classrooms and offices for the season. One group of students enrolled in CNC Setup and Operations (MTT 252) developed a three - inch aluminum Christmas tree ornament for the college’s Christmas tree in Ingram Hall. Pictured is Jeffery Brown, of Pageland, hanging the ornament with Ron Yancey, of Cheraw, who is the instructor of the course.
“All of the students in the class took part in the process, which included designing, prototyping, making adjustments and manufacturing the product,” said Yancey. “But Jeffery was the lead in writing the CNC programming and Denny Balchin coordinated the CAD programming. They’ve both done an impressive job.”
In addition to being enrolled in the MTT program at Northeastern Technical College, Brown is a employed at Screwmatics in Pageland and Balchin is enrolled in the INA Apprenticeship program.
