Summer Camp at NETC

Camp Success, a summer day camp for rising seventh and eight graders, will be held on the Cheraw campus of Northeastern Technical College this summer beginning July 27 through August 1.

The theme of the camp is Amazing Automation and will guide campers through a diverse schedule of workshops, learning activities, community projects, leadership activities and field trips to local companies to learn about manufacturing, engineering, science and technology.  Workshops may be led by college faculty or industry engineers while students are chaperoned by qualified middle school faculty and student teaching assistants.

“Camp Success is all about providing a fun and rewarding hands-on experience for young people to explore potential careers,” said Sandra Barbour, vice president of instruction at Northeastern Technical College.  “Campers will use the same technologies our students use in the classroom to work on team projects that focus on the spirit of discovery, creativity and innovation.”

The camp will be from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday beginning July 28 through August 1.  There will be an orientation session on Sunday afternoon, July 27 for all campers and their families.

Thirty participants will participate in Camp Success. The cost of the camp is $50.  Limited scholarships are available and must be requested at the time of application.
