NETC Graduation is May 31:  Representative Vick to Speak

Northeastern Technical College will hold its 2008 Commencement Exercises at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, on the college’s campus in Cheraw.  The public is invited to attend.

Representative Ted Martin Vick, who represents Chesterfield County (Legislative District 53), will be the commencement speaker.  Vick, of Chesterfield, has served in the South Carolina House of Representatives since 2005, when he was recognized as Legislator of the Year.

He currently serves on the Agriculture, Natural Resource and Environmental Affairs committee, and is the secretary of the Interstate Cooperation Committee.    He is also a member of the Sandhills Citadel Club, Ruby Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 74 and the Chesterfield County Coordinating Council.  He has also served on the State Superintendent of Education’s Transition Leadership Team, and as the House Democratic Whip.

Vick graduated from the Citadel and earned a masters of education degree from the University of South Carolina.

“Representative Vick is a strong advocate for Northeastern Technical College in the General Assembly and helps provide the resources we need to support our students,” said Dr. Ron Bartley, who will preside over the graduation ceremony for the first time as president of Northeastern Technical College.  “We are honored to have him with us during graduation and we look forward to our students sharing their stories of success with him.”
