Second Fall Classes Offer Schedule-Friendly Courses
September 7, 2006

Plans to take a class at Northeastern Technical College often derail because of course times do not fit into existing course schedules, work obligations or family commitments.

But during NETC’s Second Fall semester, which begins on October 3, classes are available that offer the benefit of flexible scheduling so current students, business operators and those with busy family lives can go to class when they want and where they want.

Current students who are on transfer pathways to four-year universities may enroll in such online general education classes as Astronomy, Biological Science, Western Civilization, American History, Philosophy, Psychology, American Government and Ethics.  Course work can be completed from any computer and student can ‘go to class’ anytime that best fits their schedule.

As an added benefit, any currently enrolled students can take any of these classes for free as long as they are enrolled as full time students. Currents students should see their advisor to enroll. Dropping and enrolling in the same class during the same term in not a possibility. Online students should heck with the Registrar before dropping a class to add another class.

Business operators or working professionals who are seeking the skills to improve their operations and business knowledge may enroll in online classes such as Business Law, Introduction to E-Commerce, Internet Communications, Small Business Management, Human Resource Management, Retailing, and Advertising.

For business operators, the benefit of online course comes from the reality of flexible scheduling, more opportunity for one-on-one communication with instructors and the ability to control the pace of learning.

Several night classes are also being offered for those who have full schedules or busy family lives during the day and prefer the on-campus learning environment.  These classes include; Introduction to Computers, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Developmental English, Developmental Math and several welding courses.

All Second Fall course are 10-week sessions starting on October 3 and ending on December 11.  The deadline for registration is October 1 at 6:00pm.

A complete list of course is available by visiting www.netc.edu and clicking on “Second Fall Classes” in the News & Events box. Financial Aid is available, but applications are required and must be submitted in advance.

Students may register September 4-September 28 (Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-6p.m. or Friday 8 a.m.-1 p.m.).  Final Registration day will be held on October 1 from 10:30-12:30 p.m. or 4:00-6:00 p.m.  For more information, call 1-800-921-7399.  Currently enrolled students must see their advisor to take advantage of this opportunity.
