Search for President at NETC Moves Forward
The search for a new president for Northeastern Technical College is advancing and the Board of Trustees hopes to fill the position soon.
So far, more than 30 applications have been received by the Human Resources Services office at the South Carolina Technical College System (SCTCS) in Columbia, which is managing the presidential search process.
A search committee made up of the college’s Board of Trustees Chairman, a president from another South Carolina technical college, and a member of the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education will next review applications to identify potential candidates for interview. Following initial interviews by the search committee, the pool of candidates will be narrowed to at least three final candidates to be presented to the Northeastern Technical College’s Board of Trustees for further interview and consideration. .
Northeastern Technical College began the presidential search process in August after the current president, Dr. Jimmie Williamson, announced his retirement effective January 1, 2008.
