NETC Employees Honor Ralph Toler
Employees of Northeastern Technical College recently gathered for a memorial ceremony to honor Ralph Toler, of Cheraw, who passed away recently after working for 23 years as a teacher, mentor and friend at the college.
The faculty also honored Toler by placing a granite marker and planting a Leyland Cypress tree just steps away from Toler’s classroom where he taught engineering graphics classes including computer-aided drafting (CAD), drawing and sketching.
Friends and family members including Toler’s wife, Debbie, who has been an employee at the college since1971, also attended the ceremony. The marker and tree are located on east side of the NETC Cheraw campus in the middle of the lawn between Willamette Hall (200 building) and Electrical Technology (300 building).
“We’ll miss how much Ralph cared for us as colleagues, the college and our students,” said Bob Smith, dean of NETC’s business and technologies division, who spoke during the ceremony. “But most of all we’ll miss him as a friend.”
