NETC Coordinates PLC Training at Wix

Northeastern Technical College recently coordinated programmable logic controller training (PLC) for Wix employees in Dillon. 

The four-day course was held at the Wix plant in Dillon where several employees learned programming, maintenance and troubleshooting  in Allen-Bradley PLC/SLC fundamentals.

Taking part in the training were Dwayne Brown, of Dillon, who has more than 20 years of service at Wix; Joel Ivey, of Dillon, who has 8 years of service at Wix; Tyron Townsend, of Dillon, who has 12 years of service; and Andre McCollum, of Dillon, an 8 year employee of Wix. 

Northeastern Technical College’s division of continuing education is now offering training in Allen Bradley and Siemens programmable logic controllers. 

Courses can be taught on industrial sites or one of NETC’s campuses in Pageland, Cheraw, Bennettsville or Dillon using a mobile training lab. 

Courses in Allen-Bradley PLC/SLC fundamentals, programming, maintenance and troubleshooting and Allen Bradley AC Drives configuration and start up, maintenance and troubleshooting are available. 

Courses in Allen-Bradley Logix5000 fundamentals, programming, maintenance and troubleshooting and Siemens PLC Fundamentals and programming are also available.

Program length and cost varies but tuition is a flat fee for any industries who would like to train several employees.  Private individuals wishing to enhance their employment skills are also welcome to take any PLC course provided by the college.
