NETC Instructor Recognized as Professor of the Year
Michael Black has received the 2008 Governors Distinguished Professor of the Year award for Northeastern Technical College.
Black, of Mt. Croghan, is an electronics technology instructor who has been with the college since 2007. He was nominated by faculty colleagues and the college administration for his teaching excellence and commitment to higher education.
Black is an alumni of Northeastern Technical College where he earned an associate degree in industrial electronics technology. Black lives with his wife, Margie, and their son, Chris in Mt. Croghan.
Black traveled to Columbia with his wife to receive his award at a luncheon at the University of South Carolina. During the event, Black was honored by the chairman of the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, a representative from the Governor’s Office and Dr. Ron Bartley , president of Northeastern Technical College.
Black (middle) also recently attended a meeting of Northeastern Technical College’s board of trustees where he was recognized by Herbert Watts (left), chairman of the board of trustees, and Dr. Bartley (right).
