Several Cheraw High School students recently took part in Northeastern Technical College’s weekly administrative meeting as part of the Cheraw Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce Job Shadowing Program.  Students included Cameron Crouse, Vanessa Hancock, Bridgette Marsh and Orneze Coit.

Northeastern Technical College recently hosted several Cheraw High School students who were interested in the various career fields and programs the college offers.  The visit was part of the Cheraw Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce Job Shadowing Program.

Cheraw High School students who participated in the shadow at Northeastern Technical College included seniors Cameron Crouse, Vanessa Hancock, Bridgette Marsh and Orneze Coit who is a junior.

The students experienced the kind of work that was involved in the job area they chose and were able to participate in a live meeting held by the college’s administrative staff.   

Vanessa Hancock, who shadowed Dr. Ron Bartley, president of Northeastern Technical College,  said that the job shadowing program gave her and other students, “…the opportunity for us to see a career from a different perspective”.

Ornez Coyt, who shadowed Peggy Ingram, a senior accountant in the business office at the college, said that, “…by experiencing how the financial department operates it gave me a better understanding of how accounting works in a business setting.”
