NETC and readySC Present Training Reimbursement Check to Highland Industries
Northeastern Technical College’s division of continuing education, in cooperation with readySC, a division of the South Carolina Technical College System, recently provided employee technical training assistance to Highland Industries in Cheraw. The training was for approximately 40 new jobs at the Highland plant in Cheraw.
Highland Industries’ recent expansion qualified the company for economic development incentives due to new job creation in South Carolina. Officials from Northeastern Technical College (NETC) and ReadySC presented officials from Highland Industries a training reimbursement check. Standing from left to right are: Gene Crawford, recently retired area director for readySC, Sherrie Chapman, dean of continuing education at NETC, and Ron Bartley, president of NETC. David Johnson, plant manger, Linda Hertlein, human resource manager, and Crytal Brock, training administrator represented Highland Industries during the check presentation.
Highland Industries qualified for the training reimbursement by creating a minimum of 10 new jobs in South Carolina, which is a requirement for readySC and Northeastern Technical College to provide reimbursable training assistance.
