Northeastern Technical College Awarded Reaccreditation
After completing a comprehensive, two-year review process which involved the entire campus community, Northeastern Technical College (NETC) has been granted reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the accreditation agency for eleven states in the southern region of the Unities States.
“Reaffirmation of accreditation indicates that Northeastern continues to meet the high standards of accountability, quality and performance of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools,” said Dr. Ron Bartley, president of NETC. “This reaffirmation action was the end result of more than two years of work by many members of the NETC team, assisted by off-site and on-site SACS reviewers.”
Bartley explained that the reaffirmation process involves two major components: a detailed review of all operational areas to demonstrate compliance with SACS standards, along with the development of a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on strengthening and developing a particular aspect of the college over a 10-year period. NETC’s QEP is entitled “Skills for Student Success.” It involves the creation of a college success skills course and related services for students enrolling at NETC, designed to help students be more successful in their educational and professional careers.
“The QEP is a long-term commitment to quality which will benefit NETC and our students in many ways,” Bartley stated.
The college’s reaffirmation was granted June 26 at the summer meeting of the SACS Commission on Colleges in Atlanta.
“Accreditation is a critically important indicator of quality for a college or university,” Bartley continued. “This reaffirmation action is a credit to the faculty, staff and administrators at NETC who continually emphasize quality and service, as well as to the members of our reaffirmation team who worked diligently to conduct the review, prepare the documentation, and develop the Quality Enhancement Plan”.
Northeastern Technical College’s next scheduled reaffirmation review will be in 10 years. For more information about the college, or any of it’s locations in Pageland, Cheraw, Bennettsville, or Dillon visit www.netc.edu or call 1-800-921-7399.
Fall semester courses at NETC start on August 20. The deadline for admission applications in August 4 and Open Registration is August 18.
