NETC Students Receive Scholarships from Thurmond Foundation
Mary Young (left), of Cheraw, and Tannesha Clements (right), of Darlington, have been selected to each receive an educational grant from the Strom Thurmond Foundation, Inc., for their undergraduate studies at Northeastern Technical College.
The Strom Thurman Foundation was established in 1974 by Senator Thurmond to assist students facing financial challenges by providing monetary support each semester.
Clements is pursing an associate’s degree of science and is using Northeastern Technical College as her pathway to a career as a registered nurse. Young will complete an associate’s degree in business with a major in accounting in December and is using the college as her pathway to a career as a certified public accountant.
