Marlboro County Student Focus on a Future at NETC
Students from Marlboro County High School recently visited Northeastern Technical College in Cheraw to learn about pursuing a college education.
The visit was part of Future Focus, an eight-year partnership program between the college and the county school districts designed to help high school students prepare for a college education.
While on campus, students learned about taking college classes at Northeastern Technical College while in high school through the dual enrollment, dual credit and Technical Advanced Placement (TAP) programs. Each program allows high school juniors or seniors to earn college credit courses in order to get a head start on a college education and save money on college tuition.
Students also took a tour of campus and had a chance to meet NETC students enrolled in specific academic departments and learn about the career opportunities relative to their chosen pathway.
Information on application procedures and deadlines, options for financial aid, and the variety of academic, career training and transfer pathways available at Northeastern Technical College was also shared. Students were also provided lunch.
