NETC Instructor Recognized as Professor of the Year

Pam King, of Ruby, has received the 2009 Governors Distinguished Professor of the Year award for Northeastern Technical College.    

King is an instructor in the college’s nursing department and has been with the college since 2000 teaching in the Practical Nursing program.  She was nominated by faculty colleagues and the college administration for her teaching excellence and commitment to higher education.   

King earned her associate degree in nursing from The University of South Carolina and bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina.  She lives with her husband, Dewey, and daughter Langley, who is a freshman at Chesterfield High School.

Mr. Kenneth Wingate (standing in photo on right), chairman of the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, presented King with the award during a luncheon held at the University of South Carolina.  King was accompanied to Columbia for the luncheon by Dr. Forest Mahan, vice president of academic affairs at the Northeastern Technical College.
