LPN Students Staff Flu Clinic at Highlands

In preparation for flu season, Highland Industries held a free flu clinic for employees and invited Licensed Practical Nursing students from Northeastern Technical College to administer the shots. Pictured is LPN student Brittany Grooms, of McColl, preparing a syringe, while LPN student Shanda Graham, also of McColl, swabs Mitchell Turner’s arm for a flu shot. The students gained clinical experience while taking preventative measures to protect the community from the flu virus. Plant nurse Shara Goodwin was on hand to assist the students during the three hours they administered a total of 140 shots.
