NETC Announces New Courses Beginning in January


Northeastern Technical College will offer for the first time several new and engaging courses during the spring semester.  
These courses were selected, and course content designed, by a group of enthusiastic college faculty members whose goal was to provide new and exciting educational opportunities for current students and individuals in the college’s service area who wish to take a course for personal interest.

ART-105: Film as Art (3 credit hours)
This course provides an introduction to the appreciation of film and covers the elements and principles of cinema with historical and contemporary examples.
Spring Term Options: Day, Evening and Friday College

ENG-218: Drama (3 credit hours)
This course is a study of drama in literature from several cultures.  Emphasis is on the nature of the genre and appropriate reading strategies.
Spring Term Options: Online   

ENG-238: Creative Writing (3 credit hours)
This course presents an introduction to creative writing in various genres.
Spring Term Options: Day, Evening and Online

PSC-205: Politics and Government (3 credit hours)
This course is a study of the concepts and problems involved in man’s relationships with government and political change. This course emphasizes comparative institutions of government, analysis of political behavior, and political ideology.
Spring Term Options: Online 

PSC-220: Introduction to International Relationships (3 credit hours)
This course introduces the major forces and factors influencing world affairs, with emphasis on the role of the United States in the global community and the impact of growing interdependence on daily living.

Admission applications for new or returning students are due by Wednesday, December 8. Spring semester classes start on January 10.
 
NETC admission applications may be picked up and submitted at the main campus in Cheraw, or at one of the college campuses in Bennettsville, Pageland or Dillon.  Students who wish to submit applications in person should do so at the campus where they intend to take classes.  

An NETC admission application may also be filled out and submitted online by visiting the Admissions page and clicking on “Apply Online Now” in the box on the right side of the page.  
 
Financial aid applications may also be completed and submitted online by visiting WWW.FAFSA.ED.GOV. Paper applications are available by calling 1-800-4Fed-Aid (1-800-433-3243).
