USC-Columbia Bridge Program

USC Logo

The University of South Carolina–Columbia and the South Carolina Technical College System have developed the USC Bridge program, designed to enhance the transfer of NETC students to the USC-Columbia. This collaboration will facilitate the transfer process and prepare and you as a transferring student to USC-Columbia.

Students participating in the program begin their academic studies at Northeastern Technical College. Transfer consideration generally requires at least 30 semester hours of transferable work. While it is anticipated that you will spend two years at the technical college, if you meet the USC freshman admission requirements before two years, you may be able transfer at the end of any semester, with appropriate grades.

Students who transfer before earning the associate degree may complete procedures for ‘reverse transfer’ of courses back to the technical college for the associate degree upon successful completion of coursework and hours at USC-Columbia.

Students will be identified in the following ways:

  • Students denied admission to the University of South Carolina-Columbia either for academic or space available reasons and who live in the service area as defined by the SC Technical College System will be notified of the program option by the University of South Carolina-Columbia Admissions Office.

Once students are identified by the University of South Carolina-Columbia or a South Carolina technical college, student names and contact information will be sent to the University of South Carolina-Columbia Admissions Office for system input and tracking.
