South Carolina Rural Technical College Consortium Grant (SCC3)
The Consortium of Denmark, Northeastern and Williamsburg jointly working on programs such as Workforce Science and Healthcare Certification. The increase of student success indicators will impact directly in the decrease of barriers creating pathways to sustainable careers.
Expansion of work-based learning opportunities, will provide aligned pathways, as courses will be also aligned to industry standards. The purpose of the grant is to create those opportunities for students to be successful, advance in their degrees, placement, transfer, employment in high wage / well-paying jobs.

Target Audience:
- INVISIBLE STUDENTS
- STUDENT FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES
- HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS NOT IN THE TOP 20%
- WORKFORCE TRANSFER STUDENTS
- MILITARY / MILITARY SPOUSES
- STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
What SCC3 Offers:
- Accelerated career pathways with flexible entry and exits.
- Fast-track and short-term certificates.
- Student support, wraparound services (technology, transportation, childcare, among others).
- The courses are aligned to industry standards.
- Expanded work-based learning opportunities.
- Dual enrollment programs in targeted career pathways.
- Allied Health Care and Manufacturing training, and mobility of students between two-year and four-year institutions in technical education.
Our Goals:
- Reduce the barriers (institutional, systemic, and cultural) for students to start a college education.
- Increase the number of students enrolled in the career pathways via dual enrollment.
- Targeted outreach and engagement to invisible students.
- Students receiving wraparound services – career guidance (internships and externships), resumes and interviews.
- Keep the career pathways aligned to increase transferability and articulation.
- Enroll in learning communities and develop the skills needed to improved in the different career pathways.

The South Carolina Rural Technical College Consortium Grant (SCC3) is sponsored by the US Department of Labor. The South Carolina portion of the program is grant funded annually to Northeastern Technical College (TC) in Cheraw SC (North Region). Two additional SC Technical Colleges host SCC3 program and project managers at Williamsburg TC (Central Region) and Denmark Technical College (South Region). These three offices also covers the different educational and certification areas in alignment with industry standards.
