Northeastern Technical College's Workforce Certificate programs are designed to get you the workforce training you need to start a new career. All programs are short-term, can be completed in less than two semesters, and give you the marketable skills to land your BIG Job FAST!

Our Workforce Certificate programs are all college credit classes, which allow you to apply the certification and credits you earn towards additional credentials, such as an Associate Degree. The programs offered are also eligible for Financial Aid and other grant funding.

Accounting Clerk - If you are good with numbers and enjoy mathematical challenges, check out NETC's Accounting Clerk Certificate. This certificate is your gateway to an Associate's degree in accounting and a career in both the public and private sectors of this important field.  Learn More. 

Childcare Specialist - The Childcare Specialist certificate prepares students for careers and/or advancement in the early childhood profession. Graduates will be qualified to work in childcare centers, family childcare homes, morning preschool programs, after-school programs, summer camp programs, and some private school programs. These skills are your gateway to an Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education. Learn More.

Commercial Transportation - The commercial transportation certificate prepares the students for not only the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required to drive commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) such as tractor-trailers, semi-trucks, dump trucks, and passenger buses, but also the business aspects behind the job. Graduates from this program go on to enjoy long careers on the road rather than in an office as an independent contractor. Commercial Unmanned Aircraft Operator - Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operating beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) have the potential to save time, money and lives for utilities, governments, farmers, emergency responders, oil and gas companies and several other users. Enabling safe and efficient long-distance UAS operations for multiple areas of business. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator I - The CNC Operator Career Pathway Certificate program stresses principles of interpreting manufacturing part blueprints and the use of basic measuring tools. The program will teach proper use of CNC mills and lathes, safely setting tool and fixture offsets, and use of verified programs to complete part projects on machinery. You will also be introduced to G and M code programming for 2-axis CNC lathes and 3-axis CNC mills. This certificate prepares students in the entry-level skills that may lead to an Associate in Applied Science-Machine Tool Technology. Learn More.

Correctional Officer Certificate - This certificate introduces public safety courses to the student as they work toward earning their associate degree, and specifically prepares them for careers within the correctional system. The courses in this certificate will teach students how a Correctional Facility operates, including formal policies and protocols in place in light, medium and maximum-security prisons and detention centers. The students will participate in tours of detention centers and prisons to observe first-hand the work correctional professionals do daily. Students will learn types of techniques that are included in correctional institution best practices related to normal daily activity, as well as special situations that develop, in both jails and prisons. Culinary Arts - Culinary Arts is a basic program to develop a professional foundation in the work habits, techniques, and attitudes necessary to obtain and retain an entry-level position in the foodservice industry. Training includes menu planning, portion sizing, and food cost control measures as well as purchasing and inventory control. Students have the opportunity to earn a ServSafe Certificate through the National Restaurant Association. Diesel Preventative Maintenance - This program covers all components and functions of a diesel engine including service, diagnosis, diagnostic testing, hydraulics, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning systems, fundamentals of transmissions and torque converters, and fuel systems. After completion of these certificate's students will obtain skill sets needed to enter the workforce as a Diesel Engine Technician. Industrial Plant Maintenance I - The Industrial Maintenance Technician program provides comprehensive knowledge of different mechanical, hydraulic and electrical processes. Upon completing the program students will have the base competencies to perform at a higher level in an industrial maintenance position. The skills for installation, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and equipment repair remain in high demand. As such, employment opportunities as an industrial maintenance technician are excellent. Pre-Policing Academy - The Police Pre-Academy Training (PPAT) certification is for individuals who seek to become employed as a law enforcement officer in South Carolina. These four courses are the initial classes needed for an individual to become a Class-1 Certified Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy (SCCJA) and the Law Enforcement Training Council (LETC) pursuant to South Carolina Code of Laws Chapter 23. NETC has developed this certificate program to support area Police and Sheriff Departments which have recently hired new personnel and need to provide the initial four courses before they head to Columbia to complete their Class-1 LEO training, as well as for residents who are interested in ultimately earning their Class-1 LEO and are not yet employed with a law enforcement agency. Residential Wiring - Residential electricians work on electrical equipment and in homes, factories, businesses, and buildings, both existing and under construction, to install, repair, and maintain power, lighting, communications, and control systems. This program will prepare students for the entry-level skills needed in the workforce. Warehouse Logistics - The warehouse logistics certificate prepares students for the entry-level career of logistics. This program contains the skills necessary to operate in worldwide distribution and shipping company.
