Annie Patrick's goal is to prepare students to become analytical, creative and practical thinkers. She enjoys preparing and motivating students from different backgrounds for leadership roles to help them overcome challenges and make sound decisions throughout life. During her free time, she enjoys listening to jazz music, reading a good book, volunteering in her community and being with family.
Ms. Patrick earned a Bachelor of Arts from Newberry College and a Master of Education from Converse College. She also received a Master of Business Administration from Tampa College in Tampa, Fla. Her teaching career began in Broward County Public Schools in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Prior to coming to NETC, she was an adjunct reading and college skills instructor at Denmark Technical College for several years. She also taught English/language arts to middle and high school students in South Carolina for four years.
Students in Ms. Patrick's College Skills classes will define a personal mission that will help them anchor their values and goals. They will learn that college is about thinking and making good choices about life and career goals. They will maintain a positive mindset by setting short and long term goals and learning techniques to achieve those goals. They will learn that they must become lifelong learners to succeed in today's shifting and sometimes unstable economy. Students will find an organized and pleasant working environment in her classroom, and they will be encouraged to participate in class activities and promote positivity among their classmates.
