Kelly Cassidy enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion for nursing with her students. Because the nursing program is a challenging one, she maintains an open door policy with her students and encourages them to always seek help when they have questions about their course work. She is a cheerleader for her students, reminding them they can accomplish their goals by keeping a positive attitude and working hard. Besides a nursing instructor, she is a mother of three children, who keep her busy attending dance recitals, karate matches and gymnastic events.
Ms. Cassidy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University and a Master of Science in nursing education from the University of Phoenix. She is currently working on her family nurse practitioner certification through Walden University. She has worked for Sandhills Regional Medical Center, Hospice of Chesterfield County and Dundee Manor nursing home.
Students in Ms. Cassidy’s class will learn basic nursing skills such as medication administration, IV therapy and head to toe assessments. They will be prepared to become competent nurses with the knowledge to provide holistic care to patients with a variety of health concerns.
