NETC's spring inductees into its Alpha Kappa Theta chapter include: Carrie Alley of Cheraw, Keith Brigman of Bennettsville, Whitney Brock of Pageland, Johnathan Cassidy of Cheraw, Christopher Caulder of McColl, Ralph Crosby of Cheraw, Joseline Cuellar of McBee, Roger Daniels of Lake view, Kimberly Dease of Bennettsville, Jaeishala Fox of Bennettsville, Brianna Freeman of Chesterfield, Thomas Hyatt of Cheraw, Christopher Irvine of Chesterfield, Asia Johnson of Pageland, Rebecca Lindsey of Cheraw, Jamira Massey of Mt.Croghan, Lisa McCollough of Bennettsville, Raenah Pate of McColl, Brianna Polson of Ruby, Tyrone Quick Jr. of Bennettsville, Daniel Rivers of Cheraw, and Caitlin Teal of Cheraw.

Ms. Mackey also recognized Conner Harvey as the 2019 representative to the South Carolina All-State Academic Team. An alumna of NETC, PTK member and 2014 All-State Academic representative, Reverend Mary Burnell, was introduced by Wendy Woods, Co-Advisor. Reverend Burnell provided an inspiring presentation on leadership.

Ms. Woods then conducted the induction, with assistance for current PTK members. Sincere Dixon described the significance of the torch, and Rebecca Body stated the symbolism of the white rose. A discussion of the PTK emblem and its components was presented by Conner Harvey.

The inductees were then announced individually and participated in the candle lighting and pledge to finalize their induction. Following the ceremony, the inductees and their guests enjoyed light refreshments.
Phi Theta Kappa is an internationally acclaimed honor society recognizing the academic achievement of associate degree students whose purpose it is to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and to provide opportunities for individual growth and development as scholars and leaders.

To be eligible, students must have a 3.5 grade-point average after completing 24 or more credit hours in their programs and be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree.
Phi Theta Kappa members are eligible to apply for millions of dollars in scholarships each year, as well as gain leadership skills and network with other high achieving college students. Induction of new members at NETC occurs every spring semester.
