Ribbon Cutting planned for February 22

Northeastern Technical College will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Marlboro County Campus on February 22. The ceremony will begin at 10 am at the campus located at the intersection of 1120 Oakwood Street and Highway 9 in Bennettsville.

During the event, the college will hold a graduation ceremony for the first ManuFirst SC class to graduate from the Marlboro County campus, and also hold tours of the new college campus.

"We see the college growing over the next decade, and we're ready to engage our community by offering training programs in partnership with local industries," said NETC President Dr. Kyle Wagner. "These partnerships have helped us understand both the workforce and educational needs in our community, and allow us to tailor programs to these needs."

Community leaders have called the college campus a "win-win for the county," saying it would make the area more appealing to industries and businesses looking to move to the area, and also increase traffic for existing businesses.

"Our new campus is designed to be flexible and adjustable to workforce needs now and into the future, and we are prepared to welcome new industries and opportunities to Marlboro County," said Wagner.
